Remembering 9-11

9-11 memorialFourteen years ago today, America was attacked.  This wasn’t a declaration of war from a recognized nation, nonetheless, this was an attack.  3,000 Americans – our neighbors, brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers – lost their lives on that terrible day.  It is only proper and fitting that we take a moment out of our busy lives to remember what America suffered.

Wise men say that those who do not remember history are condemned to repeat it.  So stand with me today as “We The People” stand united in remembrance of the horrific tragedy that was 9-11.

Also, I believe it is fitting that we express gratitude to this nation’s first responders.  Everyday, police, firefighters, and soldiers place their lives in harm’s way to keep us safe and to rescue us from danger.  So, if you see a police officer or a firefighter or a soldier, take a moment to say thank-you.  If not for them, your life would be just a little less secure.
