A White House official confirmed this afternoon that President Barack Obama will not attend former First Lady Nancy Reagan’s funeral on Friday, instead opting to speak at a hipster film and music festival in Texas.
I didn’t think it possible to be more disappointed with President Obama, but today I am more disappointed!
This action comes only weeks after President Obama skipped the funeral of Justice Scalia.
I understand that Obama’s political wold view does not align with either the Regans or Justice Scalia. However, that is a poor excuse.
President Obama is, for better or worse, the Head of State of the United States. He has a responsibility to attend the funeral of a former First Lady of the United States. It is a matter of respect.
First, I am not a primary supporter of Donald Trump. I have decided to cast my primary vote for Ted Cruz.
With that said, however, if the general election comes down to Trump receiving the Republican nomination, I will vote for him.
Saunders is a self-described socialist. Socialism has failed every time it has ever been tried anywhere.
Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.
Hillary is another four or eight years of the proven failed policies of Obama. Also with the pending FBI probe into Hillary’s alleged illegal actions while serving as Secretary of State, she is just not Presidential material.
I can’t say i am a fan of the idea of de-extinction objectives. On the surface it reminds me of the crazy things that “could” happen like in the fictional movie “Jurassic Park.” More than that, however, it just seems to be a bad idea for both the creatures involved and humanity as a whole.
Let’s just assume for a moment that de-extincting ice age cave lions as is proposed by the scientists in this article is actually possible. What happens to that creature when it is exposed to the modern world of viruses, bacteria, and fungus. This is an alien world to that creature. It his absolutely no natural immunity for biological defense.
Also, what impact will the introduction of this creature be on our modern environment and food chain. Will this creature be a natural predator? Will there be other animals to keep this creature’s population under control?
There are a lot of thing to consider when playing such a dangerous game. I just, really, do not believe the reason “because we can” is a good enough reason.
Nancy Reagan, one of the most high-profile and influential first ladies of the 20th century, has died. She was 94. The cause of death was congestive heart failure, according to her rep Joanne Drake, a spokeswoman with the Reagan Library.
I have not yet decided for whom I will vote in the upcoming Republican presidential primary. But I am conducting my research and trying to get a handle on what each of the candidates have to say on the various issues that compose my core values.
So, I went to Donald Trump’s website to find out where he stands on various issues. I am dismayed to see that he has only ONE issue on his website – immigration.
America is NOT a single issue country! There are many, many issues on which any serious candidate MUST have strong positions. I am positive Mr. Trump has positions on other issues, but voters need to know about those positions.
Until Donald Trump updates his official campaign website with a comprehensive list of key issues along with his positions on those issues, I can not support him. I think it would be irresponsible to support any candidate without adequate information on where the candidate stands on key issues.
Fourteen years ago today, America was attacked. This wasn’t a declaration of war from a recognized nation, nonetheless, this was an attack. 3,000 Americans – our neighbors, brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers – lost their lives on that terrible day. It is only proper and fitting that we take a moment out of our busy lives to remember what America suffered.
Wise men say that those who do not remember history are condemned to repeat it. So stand with me today as “We The People” stand united in remembrance of the horrific tragedy that was 9-11.
Also, I believe it is fitting that we express gratitude to this nation’s first responders. Everyday, police, firefighters, and soldiers place their lives in harm’s way to keep us safe and to rescue us from danger. So, if you see a police officer or a firefighter or a soldier, take a moment to say thank-you. If not for them, your life would be just a little less secure.
Every president wants to leave a permanent and lasting impression. Something that will be remembered for generations and be taught in history class.
Most presidents have succeeded in creating a positive legacy. Reagan will be remembered for ending the Cold War. Kennedy for space exploration. Lincoln for keeping a nation united through great trial.
Others have a somewhat less than positive legacy. Carter will be remembered for the hostage crisis. Nixon will forever be the “crook.” Clinton will always be the guy that lied to Congress and got articles of impeachment brought against him.
But what will Obama’s legacy be?
I came cross this image that sums up, in a nut shell, the Obama Legacy.
The phrase, “I brought a once great nation to its knees,” when used to describe what this President has done to America is genuinely sad.
American voters need to wake up! Stop taking life in the United States for grated. Pay attention to what you representatives are doing and don’t just accept their lies as “business as usual.”
It’s time to put an end to “business as usual” and get back to the business of making this once great nation great once again.
